Since July 1, 2011, Poudmet S.A.S. has been part of the AUREA Group.

A major player in the fields of Environment and Sustainable Development, the AUREA Group specializes in the recycling of used motor oil, aluminum, copper, PVC, complex plastics, WEEE recycling, and tire treatment.

Its development strategy is based on a process of internal and external growth.

AUREA's primary goal: To create a real dynamic by bringing together the most efficient SMEs in these same sectors of activity.

History

1922
Creation of the Henri BAUDIER Establishments, mechanical production of Metallic Pigments for decoration.
1946
Taken over by Gérard BAUDIER, the company BAUDIER & Fils shifted its production to technical applications of Metallic Powders.
1968
Stake taken by Péchiney-Ugine-Kuhlmann (via their subsidiary, Compagnie Française de l'Etain) in the capital of BAUDIER-POUDMET.
1981
Complete takeover of the capital by the Péchiney Group (via their subsidiary, SOFREM, now Péchiney Electro-Métallurgie).
1983
New business name: S.P.M.S. POUDMET, due to Gérard BAUDIER's retirement.
1992
Capital takeover by the German group ECKART-WERKE (via their subsidiary, Eckart-France) of ECKART-POUDMET.
1998
Acquisition of tin powder and antifriction tin ingot activities from the company Elektro-Thermit in Essen.
2001
Creation by Eckart Werke partners of two independent legal entities: ECKART and ECKA Granules. The company became ECKA Granules Poudmet S.A.S.
2004
Acquisition of antifriction ingot activities from the English company HOYT.
2005
The ECKA GRANULES group decided to specialize the Bailleval - Sénécourt site in water atomization, leading to new investments.
2006
Transfer of Bromix activities and tin ingots to the Velden plant (Germany).
2007
Plant expansion and construction of 3 new water atomization lines.
2008
Launch of new atomization lines.
2009
The parent company in Germany was placed under receivership.
2010
Search for buyers - Partial sale of the Group to the American investment fund Platinum Equity Ltd, excluding POUDMET.
2011
ECKA Granules Poudmet entered receivership on February 1st and was taken over by the AUREA Group on July 1st by decision of the Beauvais Commercial Court.

Our Organization

Since its creation, POUDMET has been producing high-quality metallic powders that meet market demands. The company has navigated market openings, European competition, and turbulent times.

Therefore, POUDMET aims to continue this path to sustain and grow the company.

The company produces and markets a wide range of Metal Powders with technical applications including:

  • ✅Powder metallurgy: sintering of self-lubricating bearings, mechanical parts, filters
  • ✅Chemistry: reagents and catalysts
  • ✅Plastics: fillers improving the physical and/or electrical properties of obtained composites
  • ✅As well as many other fields utilizing metallic powders

POUDMET offers its customers high-quality products. In its field, it has acquired a worldwide reputation and currently generates over 80% of its turnover from exports.

It produces alloy powders of COPPER and TIN from liquid metal. The powders undergo treatments to give the final products the characteristics required for their application.

Several atomization lines using various fluids under high pressure (water, air, etc.) allow for the production of different types of powder.

The experience gained over the years and our flexibility give POUDMET the ability to produce finished products under optimal conditions.
